The Vintage Rose Tea Room at 132 N. High St., Millville is sponsoring a Tea Time Recipe Challenge and is looking for new recipes. Send us your recipe for your favorite tea sandwich or savory. Entries will be accepted via email until April 3 at 3:00 pm. Four finalist will be chosen to be judged by our customers and staff on Third Friday in Downtown Millville at the Tea Room, April 16, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Samples will be available for judging on a limited bases (first come first sampled). Winners will be announced at 9:00 pm and names will be posted at the Tea Room and on our web site. The First Prize winner will have the honor of having their entry used at the Tea Room on our Afternoon Tea during the month of May and during our annual Mother’s Day Tea on May 8 and 9 and will also receive a Gift Certificate for an Afternoon Tea for Two. Second prize winner will have their recipe served the first week in June on our Afternoon Tea menu and receive a Gift Certificate for a Cream Tea for Two. Third prize winner will have their recipe served the second week in June on our Afternoon Tea menu and receive a Gift Certificate for a Sweet Tea for Two. Fourth prize winner will have their recipe served the third week of June on our Afternoon Tea menu and receive a Gift Certificate for two packages of our premium loose leaf tea of their choice. All recipes submitted will become property of the Vintage Rose Tea Room for possible use on menu and in a special pamphlet made by the Vintage Rose Tea Room for our customers to enjoy. Rules:
- All recipes must be submitted by email to VintageRoseTeaRoom@verizon.net April 3, 2010 by 3:00pm
- Photo of finished product should be enclosed with recipe and sent as an attachment with email
- Entries should be for a tea sandwich or savory using only from scratch ingredients except for breads
- Entries may be served either cold or hot
- Participants will be judged on creativity in using cost effective ingredients while creating a flavorful and attractive food entry
- The five finalists must be available on Friday, April 16, between 4:00 – 6:30 pm to prepare their entry at the Vintage Rose Tea Room– help will be provided if necessary – assigned times will be scheduled for all finalists
- Finalists will be responsible for supplying all food needed for recipe and all ingredients must be prepared at the Tea Room no ingredients may be cooked or mixed before that time (we suggest making enough to share with our customers that evening for voting purposes)

Each child will be given a Bonnet or Top Hat to decorate and take home
All supplied will be provided
Tea & Scones will be served afterwards
All adults attending are encouraged to wear their fanciest hat
Awards will be given for most decorative
Seating is limited for this event so be sure to call early
